SENIOR SOURCING /RECRUITER

Provide professional level support in the selection and hiring of highly qualified personnel in the US and globally where required.

Essential Functions:
Full Cycle Recruiting Support:

· In conjunction with hiring managers, recruit, interview, screen and evaluate candidates.

· Coordinate advertising (paper, internet, recruiters), schedule interviews, test applicants, verify employment and references, and prepare offer and rejection letters.

· Coordinate resources such as temporary employees and relocation services.

· Develop and maintain recruitment postings, logs and regulatory reporting as assigned.

· Develop and implement detailed recruitment strategies and plans for all openings.

· Assist HR site personnel in developing similar strategies and implementing related issues.

· Assist departments and HR site personnel in developing affirmative action goals and consult with hiring managers regarding those goals during the selection process.

· Participate in the recruitment planning process for Life Technologies globally.

· Contribute to the development of calendars and recruitment materials.

· Represent Invitrogen at job fairs, open houses, college recruitment tours, etc.

· Participate in the retention planning process for Life Technologies globally.

· Provide input regarding positions that are difficult to hire or retain and assist in implementing resolution strategies. May perform other related duties as required and/or assigned.

Sourcing Support:

· Utilize available data and metrics (or creatively builds new data sets) for self-assessing performance and developing plans for increased efficiency and effectiveness.

· Develop and execute any specified deliverable in the field of research and sourcing – such as Name Generation, Resume Mining, Identification, Candidate Development, or Competitive Intelligence.

· Conduct research and sourcing for entry-level to senior-level positions

· Build customer-supplier relationships for ongoing, long-term delivery of one or more service offerings including short-term “one-off” assignments, including external assignments and/or interaction with Senior Management.

Nature and Scope:
This position interacts with varying levels of personnel requiring the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing Life Technologies HR and Recruiting policies and programs and the interpretation of them. Effectiveness in this role requires a functional knowledge of corporate operations and product line. The incumbent determines own practices and procedures and contributes to the development of new concepts. Decisions are made within policy constraints. Performs routine duties independently with instructions given on new projects or assignments. Job encounters recurring work situations with occasional variations from the norm, involving a diverse scope and moderate to high degree of complexity. Accuracy is required in performing all functions of this position; mistakes in work could cause substantial data errors and financial loss. The incumbent must possess self-motivation, enthusiasm, and a positive demeanor toward the job, the company and their work team. Capable of leading a thorough consultative “sourcing review” to examine and identify opportunities for enhancements to process, quantity, quality, or professionalism.

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or other related discipline, or the equivalent knowledge and experience is required.

Experience:

· Requires a minimum 5 years relevant professional level human resources generalist experience, including an emphasis in Recruiting and familiarity with applicable state and federal regulations. Has completed advanced training and/or course work related to the core aspects of sourcing (i.e., internet research and database mining, AIRS, Search/Research techniques, advanced recruiting and screening, strong emphasis on direct sourcing, etc.) – has obtained relevant certification or awards in conjunction with sourcing, research or recruiting.

· Demonstrated competency in utilizing traditional and non-traditional tools for research and sourcing such as internet/online (resume banks, company websites, associations, etc.), AIRS, telephone (for direct sourcing and competitive intelligence), social media tools and has demonstrated experience in initiating and leading complex external research projects.

· Demonstrated organizational and creative problem solving skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

· Has relevant experience that would afford the opportunity to service any client division in the event a reassignment is needed and regularly seeks or accepts the opportunity to partner with a fellow team member to service multiple client divisions with multiple research/sourcing deliverables

· User level working knowledge of HR information systems preferred.

· Working knowledge of common HR concepts, practices and procedures is strongly preferred.
