***This position requires a bilingual recruiter with the ability to conduct business fluently in both French and English.

The Cold Calling Sourcing Specialist/Recruiter is responsible for building a pro-active pipeline of qualified candidates for the business. The Sourcing Specialist/Recruiter works closely with other Talent acquisition staff and business leaders to develop and execute tactical sourcing strategies aimed at generating a candidate flow that meets diversity and overall recruiting goals and achieves hiring plans. This position is for someone that has proven success in identifying and "Cold Calling" passive candidates!


  1. Execute the business group’s sourcing strategy priorities based on annual staffing plans with particular attention focused on diversity initiatives.
  2. Maintain current knowledge of internal and external sourcing options through benchmarking, best business practice sharing and industry networking.
  3. Mine various internal/external databases for qualified candidates.
  4. Ability to cold call potential candidates and sell the Johnson Controls, Inc. employment value proposition.
  5. Advises peers and business on trends and developments in the external market, that might impact talent acquisition strategies.
  6. Conduct initial screening interviews with experienced candidates and prepare written assessments.
  7. Utilize Applicant Tracking Systems/Customer Relationship Management tools to track candidate workflows, sourcing data, and pre-screening information.
  8. Maintain a constant and steady focus on the marketplace and report market intelligence. Obtain a high level of client satisfaction, informational and formally. Develop knowledge of assigned business groups structure, strategies, and critical skill requirements.
  9. Work closely with the recruiters to ensure qualified candidates are properly dispositioned through the next phase of the hiring process.



  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  2. Three to five years of sourcing and / or recruiting experience.
  3. Fluency in French and English required.
  4. Agency / Research / Third party recruiting experience preferred.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  6. Excellent customer service, problem-solving, teaming, and knowledge-sharing skills.
  7. Proven track record of developing creative and innovative recruiting strategies.
  8. A commitment to the quality/value of results and open communication.
  9. Knowledge of recruiting /placement laws and practices.
  10. Demonstration of strong technology aptitude – experience with the internet and search engines (Boolean search strings), interview scheduling systems, etc.). Experience with Taleo ATS and Avature CRM preferred.
  11. Experience in a fast-paced professional environment is highly desired.
  12. CIR and/or AIRS certification preferred
