POSITION PROFILE The Recruiting Specialist directly supports hiring managers by sourcing, screening, interviewing and referring applicants primarily for operations and non-exempt /hourly positions. The Recruiting Specialist focuses on providing positive, flexible, value-added customer service by working closely with management and HR to identify the appropriate markets to source and screen for top talent. Has authority to act within broad, generally accepted guidelines whose decisions can impact the entire area.


Creates recruiting business plan with area leadership to establish anticipated talent needs

Drives team to achieve staffing plans by partnering with managers and understanding business needs

Maintain staffing pipeline reports and hold managers accountable to 7-day feedback

Develops effective partnerships with hiring managers to understand their business and recruiting needs and establish effective recruiting strategies

Sources candidates by utilizing Internet, employee referrals, manager referrals, candidate referrals, community college and university networking, cold calling, advertising, job fairs, general inquiries / unsolicited resumes, and in rare circumstances, by coordinating with external search firms / agencies

Phone screens and recommends only qualified candidates to hiring managers for on-site interviews

Establishes meeting cadence to report on candidate pipelines, trends and to provide market feedback from candidates and participates appropriately in area sales and HR meetings

Ensures that talent channels are innovative and that we are receiving a diverse mix of applicants

Establishes positive relationships with candidates, effectively “sells” the company as an employer of choice, and assists hiring managers in negotiating/closing hires

Promotes affirmative action plan goals and initiatives

Develops and manages relationships with local employment agencies and community organizations

Remains current on company policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices

Works with HR Service Center to create offer letters / agreements and request background screen

Maintains all required recruiting activity and reporting information in applicant tracking system

Creates talent profiles and utilizes intake questionnaires to define desired top talent candidates

Trains managers on sourcing, screening, qualifying, interviewing, and selecting top talent

Aggressively manages high volume of open requisitions and days to fill

Provides statistical reporting and scorecard measurements to recruiting manager and customers

Stays abreast of industry trends and developments and keeps skills updated

Promotes and administers the employee referral program

Provides statistical reporting and scorecard measurements to Recruiting Manager and customers

Maintains and protects sensitive and confidential information

QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)

Requires 4-year college degree or equivalent work experience

3 years of recruiting experience, or equivalent work experience within the managed services business/ industry

Experience with applicant tracking systems or other resume database tools, cold calling, passive technology sourcing methods and tools, as well as behaviorally based interview skills preferred

Proficiency in MS Office Suite is required

AIRS Certification’s ACIR, CIR, CDR, or CSSR is a plus

Strong oral / written communication and listening skills

Demonstrated customer service and sales skills

Possesses excellent organizational, follow through and time management skills

Intermediate Internet and social media technology skills (research, sourcing / networking)

Must be self-motivated and possess strong multitasking and prioritizing skills

Has the ability to review prepare, provide and convey diversified information
