Position Summary

The Senior Recruiter is responsible for Talent Acquisition for JetBlue Airways. The Senior Recruiter will provide consultative recruiting support to selected Corporate functions with an emphasis on service to include: timely and strategic sourcing, qualifying, interviewing, negotiating offers and on-boarding competitive internal/external candidates to fill open job requisitions. The Senior Recruiter will be an active participant on the greater Talent Acquisition team and mentor his or her peers as it relates to sourcing, screening and recruiting for the organization. The Senior Recruiter will represent the JetBlue culture and brand, fully portray the value of the employment opportunity, and champion the overall candidate experience.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensure that competitive candidates that meet or exceed specific qualifications and are an excellent organizational fit for the JetBlue culture are presented to hiring managers for open positions

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with business leaders, hiring managers and cross functional partners to best meet the recruiting need of the business

  • Initiate requisition and conduct partner strategy meeting with hiring manager

  • Assists in a mentorship capacity in the professional development of the greater team as it relates to strategic sourcing, recruiting and hiring, HR trends, and new technologies

  • Conduct full life cycle Corporate Recruiting, including conducting telephone, individual, and group interviews. Successfully manage, prioritize and close searches against timelines

  • Provide appropriate coaching and guidance on the interviewing and selection process to all hiring managers. Make informed salary recommendations in collaboration with Compensation and hiring managers

  • Support the Talent Acquisition process through accurate record keeping, reporting, and updating interview guides and position expectations

  • Owns and manages Talent Acquisition projects to completion

  • Utilize creative sourcing methods proactively to develop and maintain a professional network of contacts and candidates for future needs including cold calling and internet sourcing with a focus on professional level positions within the Corporate area of JetBlue.

  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate Recruiting/Human Resources experience

  • Four (4) years in a Corporate Recruiting environment

  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and diplomacy

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and Outlook

  • Experience organizing/coordinating multiple projects while providing exceptional customer service

  • Available for occasional overnight travel (approximately 10%)

  • Must be in possession of valid travel documents with the ability to travel in and out of the United States

  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems

  • Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)

  • Pass a ten (10) year background check, pre-employment drug test and criminal history records check (when applicable).

  • Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located

Preferred Experience and Qualifications

  • Five (5) years of full life cycle in  IT Technical Recruiting Experience in building niche talent pools

  • Adept at utilizing social media to engage with potential talent

  • Previous Airline experience

  • Project Management experience (PMP)

  • AIRS Certified (PRC, CSSR, CIR, CDR)

  • Knowledge of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) and employment laws

  • Proven experience providing high-quality customer service in a matrix structure

  • Experience organizing/coordinating multiple searches/projects while providing exceptional customer service

  • Experience creating job descriptions

  • Understanding of recruiting metrics

  • Facilitating presentations in front of large groups, including leadership

Crewmember Expectations: 

  • Regular attendance and punctuality

  • Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice

  • Well groomed and able to maintain a professional appearance

  • When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft

  • Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun

Work Environment: 

  • Normal Office Environment

Physical Effort: 

  • Generally not required, or up to 10 pounds occasionally, 0 pounds frequently. (Sedentary)
